HOW TO DECORATE YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE

In order to make your home look more festive during the Christmas period you will want to put up a Christmas tree and decorate it with beautiful ornaments. When it comes to decorating a Christmas tree there are so many things to take into consideration that it can be a hard task to know where to start. This article provides some top tips on how to decorate your Christmas tree.

The Tree

The first thing you will need to consider is the tree. You may already have an artificial tree ready to use, so you will need to get that out of storage. If you are purchasing a real Christmas tree then you should measure the space in the area that you want to position it, so that you know what size tree you should purchase. Remember with a real tree you should be prepared to have to clean up the malting needles.

The Theme

The next step is to choose a theme for your Christmas decorations. Try and choose something that complements the decor of your home. Classic Christmas colours are red, gold and green. More modern Christmas themes will often use different shades of the same colour. Or if you really want to go all out you can purchase all white Christmas decorations. It's not just the colour of the decorations that you need to think about, you will also need to choose a style. For example, some decorations are designed to appear vintage or antique looking, while others are more modern in their design.

The Lights

Once you have decided on the theme you can choose your lights. You should buy lights that are long enough to wrap around the size of tree that you have. You can choose to have single coloured lights, or lights that are multiple colours. Some lights will even play Christmas music!

The Tinsel

The next step is to wrap the tinsel around the tree. Always do these before you hang the decorations, otherwise it can knock them off.

The Decorations

Now you are ready to hang the decorations on the tree. You should position them directly onto the branches of the tree and make sure that they are pushed down far enough so that they are not constantly falling off. You should take a step back from your tree as you are hanging the decorations to see how they look. You should then fill in any bare spots with additional decorations.

There are so many different types of decorations available to purchase. Some of the most popular types include baubles, hanging presents, snowflakes, wooden rocking horses and so much more. You can also use natural decorations, such as pine cones or cinnamon sticks, and position them into the tree. Finally, you will also need to purchase a tree topper, which is a special ornament that sits at the top of the tree.

Congratulations! You have now decorated your Christmas tree. Have a lovely Christmas.
